Pre- and basic internship – the perfect way to gain initial technical experience.
Successfully passed your college-preparatory high school (Abitur) and want to take the next step by studying with a focus on engineering? You have already chosen a college but, to be accepted, you still need to complete a pre- or basic internship that demonstrates your basic technical knowledge? Not a problem―MAHLE will prepare you for your studies!
Within just a few weeks, you will become familiar with our machining, remodeling, and primary forming production processes, as well as with work processes in tool- and jig-making in our apprentice workshop.
The operational areas included in your internship are certainly adjusted to your college’s intern program. The experience you gain during your internship will therefore help you understand the content of your studies. We will also prepare you for future jobs in the technical field.
You should schedule eight to twelve weeks for your internship. Please send us your online application in time―preferably with your latest final grade certificate―so we can consider you for the application process.
There are two entry dates for starting the internship at the location of Stuttgart: the first is mid-February (winter semester, after your college-preparatory high school), the second is at the beginning of June (summer semester, during the holidays).
Your documents should include a cover letter, your résumé, and your college-preparatory high school certificate, or―if you don’t have this yet―your last two half-year reports. After our HR team has reviewed your application, they will call you to discuss what will happen next.
Please take a look at the list, to see which locations offer pre- and basic internships.
