My journey at MAHLE started as a Senior Supervisor in production, and today I discharge my responsibilities as a Deputy Manager for companywide management. I am responsible for TPM implementation for all units of Pithampur location.

In my current position, I am expected to ensure companywide TPM implementation by coordinating with employees in various units at all levels and coaching employees for the implementation of the same. During these tasks, I was able to expand my network across departments and also got a chance to develop my coaching skills. The biggest challenge for me came in the form of developing a cost effective special purpose in-house machine for Lapping operations. Nevertheless, this turned out to be exciting because it called for innovative thinking and ingenious solutions to problems.

What has kept me going in MAHLE for so long is the fact that talent and innovation are highly respected and encouraged here. Also that, one can find excellent cooperation and coordination among employees at all levels in our organization, beginning from the Supervisor to the Managing director. This leads to the smooth functioning of our organization where we work together as one big family to achieve the goals and targets of the company. I am proud to be associated with team MAHLE!

My association with MAHLE dates back to 2004 when I was selected through campus recruitment as a Management Trainee in Foundry. Over these years, I got a series of opportunities to work in different departments which contributed immensely to my overall understanding of business and prepared me to take on challenging business roles. It is because of these growth opportunities that I currently enjoy the position of an Assistant General Manager for Foundry Process Control. It has been a decade long relationship and I take pride in the many achievements that I have had at MAHLE.

As a part of my current profile, I have had to focus on rejection control, process improvement, and new product development in the organization. Of all the tasks, the biggest challenge has been the development and establishment of Trilobe Camshaft. I enjoyed working my way through these challenges using innovative solutions because it is very rewarding to see that your efforts make a difference.

MAHLE is known for its system oriented approach, highly efficient research and development system, fair employee appraisal, efficient management and countless opportunities for career growth. Moreover, being a part of the largest OEM supplier in the Indian industry is what drives me to continue my relationship with MAHLE. Having been a part of this trendsetting organization in the automotive industry, what I really wish is an exposure to trending products like Turbocharger Housing and latest generation Camshafts.

I started my career as a Graduate engineer trainee at Pithampur location of MAHLE in 2011. During the training period, I learned about the basic functioning of all departments related to manufacturing, which has helped me to handle my projects efficiently.

As this was my first stint in an organization, I wanted to learn about all aspects of a manufacturing company. Apart from this, I was also looking out for opportunities to put my theoretical knowledge into practical use. At MAHLE, I have completed many interesting projects, out of which some of the best projects are “Lean manufacturing”, SMED (“Single minute exchange of Die”), the reduction of cycle time, . These projects not only boosted productivity, but also helped in reducing costs and ensuring faster delivery. Working on these projects has improved my knowledge about productivity and developed key skills. I receive regular support from my seniors as well as subordinates which enables me to give my best in the particular field.

In future, I look forward to working on projects related to automation-in- line which contributes in man power reduction as well as rejection control. Apart from this, Lean Manufacturing in other lines is also on my wish list of projects at MAHLE.

I started my professional career at MAHLE in July 1996 as a Graduate Engineer Trainee. Our company has offered me a lot of opportunities to work in different functions in different capacities. During my tenure with MAHLE, I have gained maximum exposure on plant maintenance and have significantly contributed towards energy cost reduction. Although I am an Electrical Engineer by qualification, I was allowed to spread my wings to other areas such as Maintenance, Civil and Instrumentation. I was lucky to receive opportunities for developing systems in Maintenance and Project Management.

I was inclined on joining an organization which could give me an atmosphere to enhance my knowledge and skills in my field of engineering. I am currently working as a Deputy General Manager, thus I am responsible for Project Management and Project Engineering activities related to foundry. My biggest challenge so far has been handling few highly prestigious projects like Shell Sand Foundry - II, Green Sand Foundry – II and a Machine Shop Camshaft expansion project.

The most satisfying part of being a member of MAHLE is that Management recognizes talent and gives freedom to experiment with ideas. This joint venture with MAHLE infused a new lease of life in my sales career, and I found myself becoming a part of a globally renowned organization. Along with this newness, came a whole new set of challenges and opportunities. The initial years with MAHLE have been particularly challenging because of my involvement in several projects that required establishing and restructuring our foundry, expanding operations, and incorporating new products and technologies. If not for MAHLE that treats its employees like family, the process of acclimatization would have been a rather difficult one.

MAHLE has been special and has become an integral part of my life because it creates a sense of belonging for its employees. It is very assuring to see that my work makes a difference and that I am able to contribute directly to the overall growth of our organization. The journey of growth and innovation that MAHLE has undergone over the past few years has had a huge positive impact on my growing career in terms of getting to experience multiple roles, facing challenging scenarios and arriving at productive solutions.
