CAE Engineer

  • Supports Development Engineer to meet customer specifications.
  • Performs numerical simulation.
  • Construct (mesh) and analyze finite element / boundary element models for automotive components.
  • Perform structural analysis (modal, forced response, durability/fatigue, and stress), acoustic analysis, CFD analysis, and gas dynamic analysis
  • Performs acoustics tests according to design verification plan
  • Review design targets and specifications
  • Provide insight into the design of air induction systems and provide design recommendations to achieve design targets
  • Interface with Projects Teams, External Customers, and Software Suppliers
  • Prepare detailed analysis reports
  • Review test results and correlate with analytical models
  • Perform work assignments with minimum supervision
  • Assist in the development of department CAE strategy
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences related to the Automotive Industry (preferred Professional engineering status) or equivalent, combined with relevant experience
  • 5 years experience in performing analysis on plastic and metal automotive components
  • Must be experienced in both UNIX/LIINUX and Windows operating systems.
  • Must be experienced with analysis programs such as Abaqus, Altair Hyerworks, Sysnoise (Vitual.Lab), STAR-CD, Ricardo WAVE, GT-Power, or equivalent
  • Experience in product development would be an asset.
  • Strong background in FEM/BEM analysis techniques
  • Strong background in designing with plastics
