Quality Engineer

  • This employee will be assigned responsibilities as the customer’s main quality interface. This includes managing assigned customer’s satisfaction metrics while implementing successful corrective/preventive actions.
  • Update quality documents on an as needed basis. This includes PPAP documents, control plan, and PFMEA.
  • Maintain successful quality relationships with customer through proactive/problem resolution.
  • Conduct quality-related training of Behr personnel.
  • Customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) coordination and submittal.
  • Gauging, testing, and inspection of materials.
  • Follow all documented procedures.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem solving teams (8D) and design reviews.
  • Lead manufacturing process quality improvements.
  • Aid in tooling/fixture design and improvement.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25%.
  • Conduct/Lead designed experiments, capability study analysis, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Provide direction to Quality Technicians as needed.
  • Provide data analysis relating to problem resolution and continuous improvement activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; BSME preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and presentation skills.
  • Experience working in a QS-9000/TS-16949 environment.
  • Strong background in statistics a plus.
  • Good computer skills required including MS Office.
