Process Planning / Controls Engineer

  • Continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput, increase assembly operation PPHH, improve OA and focus on preventative maintenance and trouble shooting.
  • Develops local supplier capabilities to repair key electrical components for assembly cells and systems and set up a system for spare parts availability
  • Responsible for HVAC heat exchanger testing and be expected to maintain, troubleshoot and improve both existing and newly launched cells
  • Responsible for problem solving equipment issues as well as product electrical issues
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of related experience
  • Past experience with manufacturing and controls engineering where responsibilities included the care of tooling and/or equipment. Heat exchanger assembly and testing (heater core and evaporators) is a plus
  • Experience in developing Engineering documentation such as PCP / SPC / PFMEA / equipment specifications / work instructions / technical reports
  • Attitude, entrepreneurial spirit, results orientation, interpersonal relationships.
  • Expertise with Allen Bradley control systems including RSLogix 5000, RSView, and IP Ethernet Communication.
  • Good mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Team building attitude is a must
  • Hands-on experience required
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • High level of analytical ability
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and engineering
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends when the need arises.
