Series Buyer

  • Conduct and/or support supplier negotiations to ensure that cost reduction targets are met
  • Address supplier issues that affect daily plant operations
  • Manage the supplier communication process
  • Coordinate and negotiate change notices with the supplier
  • Responsible for commodity strategy formulation and execution
  • Responsible for cost reduction initiatives and support of PPV report
  • Communicate and coordinate supplier issues with MAHLE Purchasing Team
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates per the commodity
  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably supply chain or business
  • 2 or more years experience (Prefer some related experience in Purchasing, Quality or Manufacturing environment)
  • Must have good understanding of quality and statistical process control techniques as well as basic manufacturing process such as raw material manufacturing, assembly and forming processes
  • Knowledge of quality and purchasing fundamentals, mechanical refrigeration systems, automotive heating and air conditioning, and engine cooling
  • Prefer knowledge of fastener and A/C Line processes, tooling and materials used
  • Knowledge of data acquisition systems and software, as well as data reduction and analysis
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Ability to write correspondence and trip reports
  • Ability to be self motivated and to operate independently
  • Ability to read computer generated reports and engineering change orders
  • Ability to be detailed, results oriented, and accurate
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically by plane and car
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate technical information and calculate statistical data
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks smoothly with a high accountability level, and a substantial level of stress
  • Ability to work as a Team Member toward overall company objectives
  • Knowledge of raw material commodity markets preferred
