Senior Mechanical Facilities Engineer

  • Work within the Mechanical support team ensuring the mechanical systems used in Test Facilities area are appropriate for the testing requirement. This would entail daily support of current equipment, initial specification support for new installations through to procurement, installation and commissioning. Role would also include support and evaluation of existing systems and equipment for the function of continuous improvement.
  • Duties
  • Liaise with internal/external customers in the preparation to ensure that requested mechanical test equipment specification is fit for purpose
  • Monitor equipment and help develop and document planned maintenance system
  • Support Mechanical systems and test rig design activities
  • Work with Instrumentation & Calibration group on joint projects
  • Support the specification, installation and commissioning of new facilities equipment
  • Manage external suppliers on delivery and maintenance of equipment and systems
  • Develop procedures and train others in the correct usage of mechanical test equipment
  • As part of continuous improvement, assist with the ongoing investigation process of new testing capabilities, equipment development and prepare recommendations
