MAHLE Compressors Hungary Kft., Balassagyarmat
The plant in Balassagyarmat was established in 1999 as a greenfield investment to supply air conditioning compressors for the automotive industry. The 14000 square meters facility has been owned by MAHLE since July 1 2015 and continues its production as MAHLE Compressors Hungary Ltd.
MAHLE's decades of automotive expertise and technological advantage are a solid backdrop for further development of the Balassagyarmat factory, acquisition of new customers and further expansion of employment.
In the autumn 2018 we opened a new, 2000 square meters production hall, where e-compressors are being produced for hybrid and electrical vehicles.
With this development the plant is one of the first spectacular examples of MAHLE’s “Dual Strategy”, where products for the traditional combustion engines and also for E-mobility solutions will be produced in parallel.
The site aims to be a good citizen in the region. Employees and leadership show commitment to the local community life, responding to the current needs. Corporate Social Responsibility projects continue to play a very important role among the Balassagyarmat team. Last years’ projects include building more playgrounds in the city, organizing summer camps for kids, and collecting donations for those in need.
MAHLE signed cooperation agreements with key technical universities, establishing conditions for common projects, and in order to become their new graduates’ “first choice employer.”
