Technical Customer Care Advisor

  • The purpose of this role is to handle customer all enquiries of a technical and general customer care and marketing nature. Processes manual ordering and total customer satisfaction for all business matters.
  • Duties
  • Process customer orders that are received via fax, email and telephone onto the SAP system to a high level of accuracy to generate an order number and picking requirement for on time delivery.
  • The first line to the customer, answer telephones within three rings and deal with the customer requests efficiently and effectively.
  • Keep customers informed of order progress, delays or early fulfilment to manage expectations. Offering customers products and services
  • Receive and appropriately handle total customer satisfaction and expectations ;- technical and general customer care and marketing enquiries, application data, cross referencing, all product information of a technical nature, pricing, availability including finding out when parts will be available if not, any complaints and appropriate deep diving into why with accurate data code recording.
  • Making pro-active calls to customers, focussing key accounts to drive sales, looking at accounts that are poor performing, part numbers with reduced uptake, any service concerns, identifying improvements, arranging technical training and workouts, accounting issues, quality items, point of sale information, current promotional items: all in conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Liaise with warehouse and regional sales managers to ensure that orders are processed in a timely manner to aid customer satisfaction.
  • Able to work with assigned customers together with the regional sales managers
  • Managing information and updating client accounts using in house software.
  • Arrange administration on stock cleanses and returns.
  • Be aware of planned marketing activities and contribute to that plan
  • Provide customers with marketing resources, such as logo, leaflets and other POS
  • Arranging credits for issues such as price, quantity and quality discrepancies to MAHLE credit control approval process.
  • General administration duties including filing, photocopying, record keeping, post etc
  • Internal customer services – transfer calls to correct department, take messages, arrange travel and meeting facilities on site.
  • Qualifications
  • Technical / Engineering / Vehicle diploma or equivalent
  • Qualification or recognised alternative for customer satisfaction and care
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, grade C or above
  • NVQ in Business Administration (or equivalent)
  • Skills and Experience
  • Good telephone manner, including and unusual accents, and excellent manners
  • Technical product competence with vehicle cat parc application
  • The ability to self-motivate an and be proactive is essential
  • Diplomacy, confidentiality and reliability are key skills
  • Enthusiasm and effectiveness as a team member will be crucial
  • Investigative and problem solving skills will be an everyday requirement
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Packages including Excel and Word are essential

  • Technical vehicle and product knowledge is essential
  • Total customer satisfaction with proactive approach is essential
  • Number of lines input into computer per day = 1500-2000 per day
  • Number of telephone calls answered per day = 40-50 per day
