Project Manager - Filters & Filtration Systems

Filters & Filtration Systems

  • Plan, obtain approval, control and close project budget. Develop and maintains master timeline.
  • Coordinate the work packages of the involved departments and ensure timely decisions in Core Team and committee meetings (including escalation).
  • Create and update project plan and ensure execution of this plan.
  • Arrange regular work meetings (including quotation and project kick-off) to ensure communication and information exchange within the Core Team.
  • Create transparency in the project and ensure proper reporting.
  • Responsible for project controlling (regarding product function, quality, cost, and timing; including maintenance of open issues list).
  • Create and update the project cost calculation at all Quality Gates (QG) and Milestones (MS).
  • Present to PRC and obtain approval at PDP Quality Gates and Milestones after QGO. Obtain approval of QG and MS (including prior project review).
  • Support sales in obtaining procurement releases from the customer (prototypes, tools, investments)and in invoicing.
  • Review and confirm feasibility regarding function, process, quality and purchased components.
  • Ensure quality gate/ milestone deliverables are met.
  • Ensure engineering requirements are met by conducting regular reviews and maintaining a deviation list.
  • Ensure engineering change management and documentation of all impacts of technical changes on the project (particularly financial impacts).
  • Review and ensure data maintenance in IT-systems. Ensure team members store project documentation in EasyDMS.
  • Ensure full complete tracking for any upfront customer payments (e.g. tooling, prototypes). Maintain and track profitability throughout PDP.
  • Ensure transfer of product responsibility to the plant including conversion plan.
  • Decide on make or buy issues and chose the production location for intercompany parts in co-operation with Production and Purchasing.
  • Conduct active management of project risks and opportunities. Conducts risk assessments throughout project and escalates as necessary.
  • Conduct gap analysis and define mitigation actions.
  • Conduct lessons learned.
  • Ensure clarification of patent and license issues.
  • B.S in Engineering or Engineering related discipline is required. (BSME Preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in Development Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering in the Automotive industry
  • 2+ years’ experience in project management experience in the automotive industry.
  • Strong team management and organization skills.
  • Ability to handle project with multiple work streams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of business problems.
  • Generalist background with knowledge of heat exchangers, plastic parts, pumps, oil pans and canisters.
  • Proven leadership and facilitation experience in driving initiatives to successful outcomes.
  • PMP certification a plus
