Sr. Calibration Engineer - Engine/Powertrain

Engine/Powertrain Calibration

  • The Sr. Calibration Engineer for the MAHLE Powertrain group will be responsible for leading and delivering calibration and control system projects on engine dyno and in vehicle.
  • Lead, plan and supervise Engine Calibration / Control System Development programs
  • Conduct detailed analysis of test results
  • Prepare technical reports, papers and presentations
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Generate and review project proposals and participate in business development activities when required
  • Analyze technology trends, and market demands to contribute to the strategic business plan and to individual projects
  • Maintain a specialist working knowledge of new technologies as appropriate to the role
  • Mentor junior engineers to assist in their technical career development
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations. Must act safely and be responsible for the safety of others around the work area
  • Maintain awareness of, and meet the requirements of the Company Quality System.
  • Employee duties are not limited to those stated above, but are inclusive of any tasks assigned by supervisor/manager
  • Bachelor Degree in an Engineering related discipline - Required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in powertrain calibration and controls development - Required
  • Knowledge of Engine Management Systems (EMS) principles including the use of calibration tools and processes – Required
  • Ability to read and interpret software algorithms - Required
  • Experience with INCA calibration tool/software in a calibration setting - Required
  • Understanding of current powertrain control system architectures - Required
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements for OBD, exhaust and evaporative emissions – Required
  • Knowledge of alternative fuel calibration and downsizing engine technologies - Preferred
  • Knowledge and hands-on capabilities for algorithm development, software and script writing in C code - Nice to Have
  • Experience or familiarity with ATI calibration tool/software in a calibration setting - Nice to Have
  • Working knowledge of Matlab or Simulink or Dspace analysis and simulation packages
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
