Senior Designer - Mechanical Compressors

  • Lead Compressor Designer responsible to establish and maintain specific parametric modeling practices and guidelines, using primarily the NX system, and based on MAHLE and industry best practices to support the compressor product line
  • Integrate new modeling practices as applicable based on lessons learned from recent design and engineering activity
  • Prepare Compressor component part and assembly part layouts for new or revised Compressor designs as needed to support engineering project activity
  • Create or revise Compressor assembly level and component level 3D design math models utilizing established practice as needed to support engineering project activity
  • Create Compressor 2D drawings based on 3D math models and utilizing applicable MAHLE and industry standards for GD&T and other drawing conventions
  • Support design communication and interface with customers, MAHLE plants and suppliers as needed to support engineering project activity including utilization of other design systems (eg. Catia) when needed
  • Work within MAHLE design system to support release of design bill of materials and drawings to support engineering project activity
  • Work within an environment which is characterized by an agreeable teamwork atmosphere, clear structures, direct approaches, and open dialog.
  • Associates Degree in Mechanical Technology preferred; drafting or other technical training also acceptable with related experience
  • 5 years or more design experience with use of CAD tools and parametric modeling methodologies of complex components and assemblies
  • Design experience in automotive HVAC, ECM, or similar components preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the following: engineering drawing, technical drafting, composition, dimensioning and manufacturing design experience
  • NX system expertise
  • Fluent GD&T knowledge
  • Able to produce 2-D prints from 3-D models and apply dimensions and tolerances utilizing MAHLE standards
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form both internally and externally
  • Effectively use Microsoft applications - Excel / Word / Project / PowerPoint as needed to fulfill key responsibilities
  • Will be required to lift a minimum of 20 lbs
