Program Manager (Intermediate Level)

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Bachelors in engineering is preferred (Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Electrical, Software Engineering) Master’s Degree in engineering or related field is desired.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing multiple programs in various project cycle stages simultaneously
  • A detailed understanding of typical Automotive program Work Breakdown Structures, Task dependencies, Timing and Budgets
  • General understanding of corporate accounting structures and procedures, including budget cycle planning, accounts payable / receivable
  • PMP certification desirable
  • Ability to work as leader of a team, but also must be able to work with minimum supervision and be capable of making decisions using available information and guidelines while at the same time knowing when to ask for help
  • Must be able to work effectively with a variety of people on a daily basis. This will include management, test and powertrain engineers, as well as customers and supplier representatives
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently run internal and external meetings to convey information to the project team, and drive decisions
  • Program management experience in cost, schedule and risk management, with systems integration experience preferred
  • Ability to generate project budget and timing plans to deliver project scope as defined
  • Must be organized and up-to-date on the detail of the programs as assigned
  • Excellent PC skills including: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • Intimate knowledge of customer processes and procedures
  • Intimate knowledge of customer expectations
  • Ability to ‘think like the customer’, to see potential weaknesses in capability and adjust
  • WORK HOURS
  • Employees must be able to work additional hours and/or additional days during the payroll week which can be in excess of forty (40) hours per payroll week.
  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Domestic/international travel with/without overnight stay may be required.
