Manufacturing Engineer - Controls / PLC

Day Shift

  • Provide expertise and leadership for manufacturing equipment acquisition and process development, especially as related to electrical and electronic systems.
  • Participate as a project team member responsible for process planning, implementation of new equipment, process documentation, training and launch support
  • Operate as the lead for troubleshooting and improving electronic systems
  • Coordinate and communicate with other departments regarding important project information and status
  • Work with the manufacturing team and production associates to improve process and material flow
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering related discipline - Required
  • Experience working in an Electrical or Controls Engineering role - Strongly Preferred.
  • Experience working in an Automotive, Aerospace or similar Manufacturing environment - Strongly Preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics - Strongly Preferred
  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLC-5, SLC 500, RSLogix 500/5000 platforms, Panel view, RSView - Highly Desired
  • Experience with Siemens S5 and S7 is a plus.
  • Proficiency troubleshooting device level networks (DeviceNET) and variable speed drive systems - Strongly Preferred
  • Experience with Just in Sequence manufacturing is a plus.
  • Must possess strong computer skills (Windows XP, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, CAD programs, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Visual Basic or programming languages - Nice to Have
  • Strong interpersonal skills and organizational aptitude.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience specific to heat-exchanger technology (manufacturing or design) a plus.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing, six sigma, KANBAN, etc. - Nice to Have
