Maintenance Technician (Electrician)

  • Design and rebuild electrical sequence control circuitry.
  • Develop and appropriate PC program for production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate heat controllers, power supplies, and temperature recorders.
  • Problem-solve and repair electronic, numerically controlled servo and stepper motor controller/drive systems.
  • Problem-solve and repair automated production machinery and electrical logic control circuits.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to existing equipment.
  • Identify probable failure causes of automated production machinery with Allen-Bradley PLC/SLC’s, DC Drives, AC Drives, and servo systems.
  • Follow-up with corrective action to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical control systems.
  • Work with the Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Train others on the use, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment in an effort to alleviate downtime.
  • Follow all established Safety Guidelines.
  • Complete documentation of work orders, purchase orders, and reports as necessary.
  • Occasionally function as back-up support for Mechanical Maintenance Technicians.
  • Function as a member of Manufacturing, Engineering, 5S, SMED, Ergonomics, or Kaizan teams.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime and any shift as required.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required; trade school a plus.
  • Five years industrial experience or completion of Apprenticeship/Journeyman program.
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
  • Two years training and experience with Allen-Bradley PLC-5 or SLC-500’s including analog inputs and outputs, math functions, and MOVE statements.
  • Must be able to train others effectively.
  • Knowledge of automated machinery control circuitry including programmable controllers.
