Quality Engineer

  • Work with Quality Manager to align facility practices with those of MAHLE QM. Develop performance improvement targets for quality, service, and efficiency.
  • Coach/assist supply base with adherence to MAHLE’s procedures and requirements and provide training where deemed necessary to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain ISO9001:2008 quality management system which includes maintenance and governance of all the processes mentioned in the interrelationship matrix.
  • Perform system and or process audits where deemed necessary for potential and current suppliers.
  • Manage the RMA process for MSS effectively and provide timely updates to the customers. Responsible for all returned material.
  • Monitor daily activities and report to Quality Manager in the areas of Total Quality Management, Continuous Process Improvement, Supplier Quality, and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Responsible for Cost of Quality. Work on data analytics to understand the warranty cost for different product lines to assist the QM to create trend reports.
  • Develop and maintain a system for out come management.
  • Responsible for maintaining Calibration Program to ensure all the tools are calibrated in the hardware lab.
  • Manage document Control thru Qsi under the supervision of the Quality manager. Champion the Corrective Action Requests, and create monthly reports on the root cause analysis. Investigate, monitor, document and report on quality of care and service issues.
  • Provide proper on-the-job quality awareness training of associates and new employees.
  • Verify measurement and test results utilizing appropriate print, specifications, parameters and record results on appropriate inspection report form.
  • Provide feedback to manager on quality problems. Maintain communication of pertinent details between departments.
  • Work on mapping the business processes along with the quality manager as per requirements of management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field - Required
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency Status is Required
  • Minimum 3 years of Quality Control experience - Required
  • Minimum 3 years of Supplier Management experience - Required
  • Experience in Performance Systems Audits (ISO9001) - Required
  • 5 or more years of Quality Control experience - Preferred
  • Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma Principles - Preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or understanding of component and product engineering - Preferred
  • Aftermarket experience - Preferred
  • Knowledge of Logistics Processes - Nice to Have
  • Strong understanding of Component and Product Engineering - Desired
  • Ability to travel Domestically up to 10% - Required
