Your Role & Responsibilities

  • The Prototype Coordinator position is responsible to perform all procurement activities for prototype A/C automotive compressors components. This includes the development of a prototype supply base and the control plans for processing of all components.
  • Prepare orders for prototype compressor components.
  • Develop a prototype supply base capable to provide components meeting all engineering requirements for the components.
  • Perform/coordinate precision measurements of compressor components upon receipt of incoming orders.
  • Develop control plans for all prototype compressor components.
  • Record data entry measurements of incoming component parts into parts tracking system.
  • Develop and implement improvements to current prototype inventory tracking system.
  • Developing and authoring engineering prototype specifications for components and assemblies.
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation and specification of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Comply with shop safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Your Skills & Strengths

  • Associates Degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing technology is required; Bachelors Degree in mechanical or manufacturing technology.

  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing processes in machining, forging, casting, stamping, and molding
  • 5+ years experience in development of precision products
  • Ability to work in a hands-on, team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and to apply critical thinking techniques to solve problems.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and oral skills – ability to convey technical concepts.
  • Good results orientation and strong work ethic.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledgeable with PC’s, email and MS Office applications.
  • Experience or capability of learning the usage of Metrology equipment such as CMM, form trace, surface finish, measuring microscope etc.
  • Measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, depth gage, torque wench, etc.
  • Ability to perform precision assembly of components by hand assembly.
  • WORK HOURS-must be able to work additional hours and/or additional days during the payroll week which can be in excess of forty (40) hours per payroll week. Employee must be open to a 2nd shift assignment if required during the course of employment.
  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS-Domestic/international travel with/without overnight stay may be required.
