Your Role & Responsibilities

***Applicants must be eligible to work for in the US for any employer without sponsorship.*** SUMMARY #This entry level position will challenge you to a variety of disciplines focused around vehicle calibration and engine control systems. Your initiative and motivation will empower you to define your own personal skill set whilst acquiring essential experience. Following an anticipated evolution of up to two years, you will be expected to develop into a valuable and dynamic engineering asset for MAHLE Powertrain. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES #Support engine calibration & control system development programs #Execute calibration guides to deliver quality and timely results #Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams #Ability to adapt, integrate and work well with others is essential #Perform data reduction and detailed analysis of test results #Prepare technical reports, papers and presentations #Participate in business development activities when required #Analyze technology trends, and market demands to contribute towards the strategic business plan and individual projects #Observe all safety rules and regulations. Must act safely and be responsible for the safety of others around the work area #Maintain awareness of the Company Quality System #Employee duties are not limited to those stated above, but are inclusive of any tasks assigned by supervisor/manager #Complies with Company policies, procedures, guidelines and standards #The employee must hold a valid license with satisfactory driving history and be able to drive motor vehicles #An employee in this role is required to meet DOT medical standards

Your Skills & Strengths

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE #Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field #1 year of relevant internship, professional, or other automotive activity (e.g. SAE, hobby, etc.) experience in powertrain calibration and controls #Knowledge of internal combustion engines and testing techniques #Knowledge of Engine Management Systems (EMS) principles including the use of calibration tools and processes #Understanding of current powertrain control system architectures #Knowledge of legislative requirements for OBD, exhaust and evaporative emissions #Ability to work well under pressure and to strict time constraints, as part of a team or individually #Confidence and ability to communicate effectively at all business levels #Self motivated with the drive to complete tasks in a timely manner with appropriate attention to detail #Flexibility with working hours and willingness to travel to customer sites for both long and short durations #Working knowledge of Matlab/Simulink analysis and simulation packages #Knowledge and hands-on capabilities for algorithm development, s/w and script writing OVERTIME #Employees must be able to work additional hours at the end of the shift, additional days during the payroll week which can and will be in excess of forty (40) hours per payroll week.
