Research & Development

The future begins now – in research - here we work on innovative solutions for our customers.

Research and development, our creative think tanks, that are always a step ahead of future trends. This is where we monitor the future development for our products. We test the technical feasibility of new technologies and products. To take on these challenges, we are recruiting creative, future-focused and flexible engineers with a broad range of knowledge.

Our core businesses also involve product development. Most of our development employees work in this area. In advanced product/process development as innovative developers of prototypes for the product generation after next. In this area, we plan and develop product and process concepts of prototypes and mature parts and components that will shape our future success. Here, too, we are seeking engineers who can draw on their creativity and expert knowledge to fuel innovation. Pragmatic experts for customer solutions in serial production work in product development. Here, we develop and hone products and processes until they reach series maturity and can be directly used. In this work, we rely on engineers characterized by expert knowledge, customer focus and determination.

Technic Center

From the germ of an idea to series production-readiness and beyond. In addition to production and logistics, the technic center is the third largest area in St. Michael and has about 200 employees. The division is organized into the departments sales/order center, plant and tool manufacturing, plant maintenance and facility management.

The sales and order center focuses on the development of economic systems and tool concepts as well as the preparation of tenders and calculations based on MAHLE specifications. The plant and tool manufacturing in St. Michael builds plants and injection molding tools for itself as well as for other MAHLE locations worldwide in accordance with the project schedule. The maintenance is responsible for the technical availability of production equipment and tools. The division maintains the tools throughout the whole life cycle.

MAHLE’s current quality strategy is based on optimum production facilities as well as the "Total Quality Management" system. This philosophy entails flexibility, conscientiousness, and responsibility on the part of each individual employee, in each development and production phase, in all projects with suppliers, customers and partners.

To be able to ensure the best quality, MAHLE insists that suppliers using automated, state-of-the art production and testing technologies adhere to strict quality standards.

Production

160 Production Sites. Five Continents. One Standard. Our modern, efficient production processes around the world enable ergonomic series production at the highest level. In Austria alone, our employees work in 4 production plants to make innovative products for our business units.

Each production unit comprises an independent team. This consists of workers, skilled workers and specialists as well as supporters, who are drawn, for example from Work Preparation, Quality Assurance Prototype Construction and Logistics departments. Our products are manufactured in modern manufacturing facilities, configured precisely for Production. The highest quality standards are, of course, observed.

For Production, we are looking for motivated, technically interested employees who value working on varied tasks.

Controlling

Always on equal terms – the employees in controlling at MAHLE are equal partners who help operational executives make their decisions. Beginning with a plant controller and extending to country and regional controllers, every company and business unit has its own controller. Expertise on every level. With know-how and a grasp of technology and operational procedures.

The potential assignments in controlling are nearly unlimited. Controllers who have proven themselves can also receive positions in another country. A transfer from controlling to accounting is also possible. And will be supported by MAHLE.

We are looking for employees who have a grasp of numbers and an understanding of business relationships. In addition, they should be interested in our technology. That is the only way they would be able to understand our work as a company and become true partners for our management echelon.

Finance & Accounting

As a financial and accounting employee, you are responsible for ensuring and maintaining the financial transparency of our company at all times.

Whether you are a vendor or debtor accountant, an employee in the asset and general ledger, accounting and tax planning or treasury and cash management – you have great career opportunities in finance and accounting sector. You are all the time in contact with internal and external contact partners.

Purchasing

As global market leaders, our buyers develop, coordinate and implement the best global merchandise group strategies. Procurement market, price and value analyses, national and international negotiations are carried out and development projects supported.

In Europe, our production materials buyers operate in many different merchandise groups. With the support of supplier management, they ensure the optimal selection of suppliers and develop these relationships further. In this way, they ensure smooth supplies to our production plants.

Non-Production Purchasing ensures that the right contractual conditions are in place and that service delivery is of the right quality - from services to office equipment to the production plant.

In the Purchasing department, new employees can expect to be given exciting tasks in an international environment. Our work is project- and team-orientated. Of course, we use state-of-the-art procurement tools, such as SAP, e-catalogue management and online auctions.

Logistics

In logistics, we design the entire value chain: from the customer to the supplier, from the enquiry to the quote. We create individual logistics concepts and accompany the projects, from selection of the production site through to the start of series production.

Employees in logistics are responsible for factory and layout planning, material flow and warehouse planning as well as supply and waste-disposal systems. And ensure their introduction by providing efficient project management and controlling. In such areas as strategic planning, supply chain management or production and warehouse logistics, these challenges offer much freedom as well as much responsibility for individual employees.

We have a logistics network that has enormous know-how and years of experience. Our employees carry out responsibility-filled projects in the broadest variety of locations around the world. To ensure that these employees can deliver the usual MAHLE quality, we help them grow by offering continuous professional development courses. As a result, they remain up to date about trends in logistics.

Human Resources
